banana mango baby

Allow me to introduce one truly high-end banana mango bitch aka my banana mango baby. Last Christmas, my parents bought Joe and I a Ninja, which I proceeded to forget about for around four months. Upon becoming locked in the house 24/7, I unearthed the Ninja and began obsessively blending all sorts of household treats. To those of you who do not have Ninjas, did you know you can essentially place the ingredients inside the Ninja, press a button, and walk away? Meanwhile, the Ninja takes care of all the bullshit that you typically have to run interference on with a blender, i.e. getting clogged, failing to mix wet and dry ingredients, and so on. Anyways, this is not THAT KIND of recipe blog—though I do fully dabble in those and intend to drag you into at least one—behold, the recipe for my smoothie swan song:

BANANA MANGO BABY

Servings: 2
Ingredients (in order of addition):
1 perfect banana (I prefer bright yellow shade, slight green at either tip, and a few tiny freckles so rare that they look like beauty marks, but to each their own)
1 scoop of protein powder (I have co-opted Joe’s protein for this purpose and prefer the strawberry, banana creme, and vanilla flavors for this recipe)
1/2 cup of Greek vanilla yogurt (I like Oikos)
1 cup of vanilla Almond milk (Almond Breeze or die)
1 tsp of vanilla extract (or just a splash)
1 - 2 cups of frozen mango (do not tell the banana but this is the integral component. I am now convinced mango adds marked improvements to anything. My Ninja can only fit about 1.5 cups of frozen fruit at this point, but I encourage you to add more if your blender has the real estate)
Drizzle of honey

Add the ingredients in this order (dry, wet, frozen) and blend them up! Serve and enjoy. 🍌🥭 ✨
